Hi from Leicester

Hello everyone. This is my first post so bear with me .

I have a Blue Crowntail Betta named Ceto (the name of a mythical Greek Sea monster apparently) who is beautiful but very feisty. I keep him in a 10 gallon tank along with two peppered Corys and some ramshorn snails. Lots of live plants for him to lay on near the surface, filter and heated to around 80f.

I've only had him a few days but he seems to be doing fine chasing the corys around and guarding any bloodworm that lands on the substrate. He has Betta Omega pellets as well as the bloodworm. Love the idea of the garlic on the worms - will try that.

Welcome to the forum! Your tank is overstocked as all cories need at least a 20 gallon and a group of six. A betta also needs a 20 gallon to be housed with other fish. Being at 80 for most cories is way to high. Your Betta is beautiful!

 

Welcome to fishlore. I personally don't think its a good idea to keep bettas with other fish

If you keep betta single in a 10 gallon then it woud be fine.

Okay - I'll put the corys back with their pals. I must admit they don't look all that happy. Many thanks x

 

Right I put the corys back in the main tank last night so alls well. The betta is eating better now I notice now he's on his own so thankyou for that advice .

Could I ask - I have a 50 litre filter in there - very gentle overflow type. I have bought a new aqua-flow minI 50litre to keep as a backup filter. Would itbe okay to put this in Ceto's tank too or would the flow be too much for him ?
