Hi, I was searching for a good place to know about fish, I see that this forum is a god place for it. I am from Colombia, there are much variety of Tropical Fish, but some of them are disappearing thank to global warming.

I am Mechanical Engineer and I have decided to make something about it. I hope that some native tropical fish not to disappear.

HI Juancho. Welcome to FL.
Despite our love of nature I am not sure fishkeepers are the most enviromentally friendly lot. We use a lot of power creating the perfect environment for a few fish. Some people even keep their whole house air condictioned to keep their fish happy! We also deplete native stocks of some fish and do very little for the rest. Ouch. I am going to go turn some lights off. I feel guilty now.

Welcome to fishlore, I’d worry more about water pollution and building projects, then global warming. Protecting our wetlands is a good start.

You found the right forum, everyone here is awesome. There’s always 1 person here that’s expert on something and when they don’t know they’ll point you in the right direction to find your answers.

HI claudicles, I thought, it is not to feel guilty. but for turning light off is not enough, If we would like to see fish (in my country, tropical fish) in the future we have to do something more.
