Ok I just bought a new tank and just need to know about the fish less cycle.

1. Does there need to be a heater in the tank?
2. Is it best to use flake or frozen blood worms?
3. Is there any way to speed up the cycle?

Thanks
Emily

It's best to use pure ammonia if you can find it. Dosing is more accurate, and you don't end up with an odor issue like so many members report. And yes, get the heater - you can speed it up some by raising the temps.

But it will still work without a heater? Its just the heater is being used at the moment.
I have a cycled tank, could I use some of the filter out of that to speed it up?

Yes, using cycled media helps a lot. Put the cutting directly into the new filter.

Not sure if cycle will work without a heater, but I imagine so, since goldfish tanks aren't heated, and they cycle.
