Help With Skimmer

I’m a rookie to all this and we got this filter from my Lfs as a trade for a our freshwater filter. (We started with a freshwater tank but the well water was way to alkaline and ph was way too high so switched to saltwater.) After I put filter media in the well the protein skimmer started picking up tremendously. Really great, nasty water the first couple days. But now it’s just filling up with what looks like regular tank water, and it fills up in about 15 min. Is it working properly? Is it supposed to flow over that way? Please see the link for the video. You need to slow the flow in to skimmer or speed up the flow out.
If not possible see if you can adjust air ,although that should be last choice.

I have scrub pads, seachem matrix and purigen in my filter. When I push them down in the filter well is when the skimmer really kicks in high gear. I have the knob that controls the flow for the skimmer turned as low as possible.

All skimmers have flow control valves of some form on them. If you have an in sump skimmer it likely also has a water flow control valve coming off the return pump pipe. You can adjust both in that case. You want to make it so that the stuff going into the cup (what is being skimmed) is fairly dark. If it's HOB you will need to control everything from the flow valve on the skimmer itself. Be aware that they are super touchy. I can go from perfectly fine to completely overflowing all over the place with a 1/8 inch turn on the valve.
