Help with possible popeye

Redulus

Bought this little guy for my mom’s tank last week after the death of her last betta. I actually chose him partially because of his eyes.

After googling, I learned that these eyes weren’t normal and that it was pretty easy to diagnose Popeye but I’d obviously never seen it before so I wanted to get better opinions.

Moving forward, I was wondering what I should do. Will just letting him get acclimated to the new environment help or will I need to do something more like the salt bath?

Can you get a pic from the top? I find it much easier to identify from above :)

Hmmm...usually it jumps out at me from that angle. Isn't jumping so IMO, i think the betta is OK, but might want another opinion.

Thank you. Looking at the photos again it seems they aren’t the best. He’s pretty active and seems to enjoy his new home. Hasn’t shown any other sign of sickness so I do hope he is ok.
