I have a 10 gallon tank that was fully cycled and I got three male mollies a month ago. They’ve all been doing fine until yesterday the smallest one has been hiding all day and only somewhat coming out to eat. Previously this one did hide a little here and there and I saw the more dominant male chase him on numerous occasions but today he has been in hiding all day... i just did a water change on Friday and tested today and parameters are fine and the other two mollies are acting fine. Any thoughts? Is he just scared and stressed by the alpha male?

Hi,

What are the numbers for the test?

And your tank is quite small for mollies. Could you get a 30 gal tank if possible?

Hmm. Well they can't be in a 10 gal as that will have effects later.

Do you have a friend they can go to?

If not can you post them for sale on craigslist, ebay or aquabid.

Anything that can be done in the interim? The LFS said they would be fine, I even specified if the tank was large enough.. sigh. The fish seemed perfectly fine for the last month until now..

Mollys are huge waste producers and are more aggressive in smaller tanks. You are always going to have troubles in a 10g with them sorry.
