Help With Injured Rainbow Cichlid?

I posted back in December that my female Rainbow Cichlid and male Firemouth Cichlid had mated. Since that time he has been harassing her off and on. Over the last couple of weeks it has gotten more intense though. Usually she swims away and hides, but sometimes (like tonight) she presents her side and they act like they did when they wound up having eggs. Even when he chases her, it seems mostly like bluffing. I have never seen him actually cause physical harm. He will charge her and at the last second pull up and just bump her in the side. Which brings me to my question. I noticed she had a tiny mark about 1/4" behind her right eye last night. It was no worse or better this morning when I did the water change. This evening, I came home to what appears to be both of her sides injured. The right side is a little worse with the first part of the injury deeper. It appears to me they have been scraped against something in the tank, possibly when he was chasing her. I don't think an illness would come on this quickly or be this symmetrical, nor does it appear to be a fish attack. I would like some other opinions please. Thank you in advance.

Looks like very small abrasions with a bit of fungus attached.
Usually nothing to worry about unless the Firemouth continues to push the Rainbow around.

Could fungus set up that quickly? Within approx. 7 hours and right after a large water change? The fact that you consider them small abrasions is a relief. Do you think they are from scraping against something or do you think the Firemouth actually caused them? I removed a large rock that had some semi-rough edges and re-arranged the tank AGAIN tonight, adding more hiding spots and more plants. (55 gal btw) They are the only cichlids in the tank with some harlequins, a SAE, and a BN pleco. I didn't realize they could breed when I got them. The guy at my LFS knows I've been planning on adding an electric blue acara, and suggested I make sure it's a female to distract the firemouth and give the rainbow a break. What are your thoughts on that? I hate to get rid of the firemouth, he's just starting to color up beautifully, but I will if that's what I need to do for a peaceful tank.

Firemouths due better in conspecific groups. They develope a social hierarchy & will usually leave other species alone.
I wouldn't worry too much about the gender of the Blue Acara. Just select the most vivid & robust specimen in the vendor's tank.

Thank you so much for your response. The lights haven't come up on the tank yet, but when they do I'll check on her. I plan to do daily water changes until she heals up.
