Help With Guppy In Community Tank

I had one female Betta and one guppy in a 20 gallon tank for a few weeks before I decided on what fish I wanted to put in there. Everything was fine with the two of them. They left each other alone but the guppy usually stayed in one corner. I decided to have a female betta sorority. Now I have 5 females that are doing great. I figured the guppy would enjoy more guppies so I got two more guppies. The two new guppies swim around and are very active playing together. But my original guppy seems scared of everyone. He’s even bigger than the two new guppies. He stays by himself in the corner all day unless a fish gets close to him and he swims off but eventually goes back to the corner. He even seems scared of me when I’m around the tank. I really like him and want him to be happy. Should I move him to a tank by himself? I would hate to have a tank with only one guppy in there

Are the other two gups male also ?
Betta may be chasing the male more due to color or fins ?
Welcome !

Welcome to Fishlore, Question, didn't you say that the guppy always stayed in the corner, even when there were just 2 fish in the tank?

Yes all male guppies. He’s in the upper right corner in the back scared to death. I watch the tank a lot when I’m home and I don’t see him being picked on. Occasionally a fish will swim to his spot and he swims away fast.

Yes he did, I thought he might enjoy having guppies in the tank but he’s scared of them also

Your tank looks very nice . The gup is lucky to have such a nice tank ..
Keep an eye on him as isolation is the first symptom of too many issues ..
Most fish will not isolate long term without a real good reason .
Especially a male gup ..He should be a problem of a different nature ! Fruitless as his efforts would be in a all male guppy and female betta tank he should be 'bugging ' everyone not hiding from them .!

Beautiful tank! I’ve had guppies do that when they were older and close to guppy “retirement” but never a young one. How long has it been since you added the fish. It may just be stress and territory. Does he eat?

I got him a month ago. He is almost double the size of my other two new male guppies. Maybe he is older. Yes he does eat. He acts scared of me during feeding time but after I close the lid and move away some I see him eat. I also see him eating algae

If the other fish are new additions, just relax for a few days and see what happens.
