Help With Corys Growth

Hello, I just discovered a growth in one of my corys back, it is a white ball, fluffy, like a pellets when it has fungus.
Any idea of what it is and how to treat it?
The parameters in the tank are normal ammonia 0ppm, nitrites 0ppm, nitrates 40ppm, ph 7.9 and temperature 76F.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks for tagging me, ironically I JUST had this same thing on a Ram, I mean exactly. I tried malachite green with Kanaplex and it went away. But also, keep those nitrates at 20 or less.

 

AquaticJ Did you QT the ram or just added it to your tank, mine is a planted tank

 

Added to my tank, I breed Rams so it had a bunch in there, and its planted. No affect on the plants or other fish at all.

 

Thanks AquaticJ , I dose Thrive 2x week, that's why the nitrates are so high, should I only dose 1x. My water changes are 30% once a week.

 

Anything over 20ppm isn’t necessary, especially if they aren’t all being utilized.

 

Update AquaticJ I did daily water changes until the nitrates are in the 15ppm range.
The growth is slowly reducing and I just received the malachite green to the tank.
I lost 2 zebra danios in the meanwhile, 1 due to dropsy (I had it in Qt as soon as I noticed the symptoms and I started treatment but it died the next day) the other just stopped eating and died in 2 days with no external symptoms. Both Danios are over year and half old. The rest of the tank seems normal.

 

Can't see it properly but it is on a spot that where corys have a gland and especially C.aeneus seem to secrete fat / protein in a way. Normally it is even more white.

If it.is that it.will disappear on its own.

 

I had the exact same thing you described on one of my Corydoras 2 months ago. Started on left fin and then another grew on the right fin. I just stepped up my water changes to twice a week and it has gone away on its own.
