Help with Angelfish eggs

Corzz79

Hey all, I’ve got a 350litre / 90g tank, with about 8 angelfish, and just now, one of my koi angels have laid eggs on a sword plant. I’m not sure who she’s paired with, but she seems to be alone protecting the eggs.

What’s the best thing for me to do? I don’t really want the aggression, but I also feel bad. Do I just remove the eggs and let her be? Or remove her and the eggs? I don’t even know if they are fertilised. She ok not not long laid them.

Removing the eggs will reduce aggression but of course you will have to deal with this every few weeks. If you want the eggs to hatch you can leave them with her (the first few times she will fail to protect them even if they are fertilize but eventually they will work it out); or you can put them in a container with an airstone. It is normal for angelfishes (and many cichlid) to take several trys to get fertilization correct et all. The frys if they hatch in the main tank will be first wrigglers and eventually they should be able to protect the wriggles but there will be no chance of raising the frys with many tank mates. What I do is let the angels hatch the eggs and then steal the wrigglers but most breeders i've heard from either remove the eggs or put the parents in a dedicated breeding tank.
