okay one of my mystery snails just died luckily I caught it before the body could decompose, now I know you clean 25% of it when that happens but the problem is it’s late and I was already gonna do my weekly water changes tomorrow so can I wait or should I do the water change now ?

What sized tank? If it's the 5.5 or 3, I'd try to do it now since mystery snails can produce a lot of ammonia when they start to decompose. Sorry. And I'm sorry for your loss, it always sucks

Unless you have a real small tank you should be fine. Do you have an API Master Test Kit? That will tell you whether the dead snail is causing a problem or not.

How long was the snail dead, it should be fine if you do the water change tomorrow, maybe do a little more like 35% or something.

I would think it depends on why you think he died? If it was natural causes or at least nothing that would be a hazard to your other inhabitants then I would say it can wait.

Does the dead snail smell really bad, that means that it has started to decompose.

So just check for ammonia and I got a 75 gallon tank.

Well there isn’t a way I would know that but it looked like my snail just died it’s body wasn’t falling a part yet but some other snails were around it.

It was a female snail but really I think it was old age because I did have it for quite a long time and they only last for a year and I don’t know what age it was so it could of been that. I don’t think it was anything serious but like the other people said I’m gonna do a test on the water.

Yea that’s how I knew it was dead. It happened to me before one of my other snails died of old age too
