I bought this snail along with two others a week ago, I bought them under the impression they were nerite snails and wouldn’t bread, come two fine out two of the three were mystery snails. I had no need for them to multiple so I took one of the mystery snails and put him in tank with just a beta in it. He’s been in about a day and seemed to be doing fine till I noticed these black dots in his front, what are these can someone help me?!?

Is it moving around? Nerite poos are pretty weird looking. Kind of like that.

Maybe some sort of scrape or something. Can we see another angle? I don't think it's something you should worry about too much.

It’s not moving from what I can see, and this one is a mystery snail not a nerite

Idk if this is any different, he is tucked away and it’s a round tank so makes it hard to get a good picture of it

Oops sorry it still looks like poo pellets. They sort of stick to she shell. See if it is still there later.

Hmm. Maybe some natural discoloration or stress marks of some sort? It could just be poop from your betta or himself stuck on him.

I am not sure about what you are seeing but wanted to mention that it is actually easy to keep from being over run with mystery snails. Unlike some snails, mystery snails lay their eggs in a fair sized clutch just above the water line. The clutches are usually easy to spot and remove. If you don't want the clutch to hatch then just crush it and dispose of it. Should you decide to collect and let one of the clutches hatch there are lots of folks here that can help you out with how to do it.

I think it looks like snail poo. My snails poo different types depending upon what I fed them. I've seen it look like black things, just like in your pic.
