I found a tick in my room and decided to bug bom it to kill it where ever it is and I bought them and realized it can harm my fish I have. 55 gallon community tank and a 3.5g betta tank. it says to turn it off and cover it but will they be ok with it turned off for 2 hours? and what do I cover it with?

The betta tank could b covered with a trash bag and wrap it with tape to seal it good and the 55 could probably b done the same way but you’ll need to maybe cut a couple big contractor bags to cover it well and tape it up tight or maybe a big tarp good luck!!

You could move the betta tank out of the room for the two hours. If you have an air pump and enough tubing you could run the air pump in another room with the tubing going into the 55 gallon. This will create over pressure in the covered 55 gallon which will keep any of the bug bomb from getting into anywhere that isn't completely sealed by plastic. It will also help maintain oxygen levels.

To cover the tanks you can use garbage bags or a tarp like kallililly1973 said, or use plastic wrap. Basically whatever plastic you have available that will provide a decent seal on the tank.

I don’t have long enough tubing, but will the tank be ok without a filter for 2 hours???

You should be okay with 2 hours. Fish go longer without filtration when they're being shipped.
