Does anyone know what this is? It has just surfaced in my tank and I need to know if it should be removed ASAP. When we recently had a new addition to the tank it may have hitch hiked with out my knowledge. 20180621_103440.jpg1529595464937.jpg

Looks like a Malaysian trumpet snail. They are pests, as they can reproduce very quickly. But not one of the worst pests!
Do you have sand substrate? They can be beneficial for sand substrate as they keep it sort of aerated, and you hardly ever see them since the burrow in the sand.
I've got them in a gravel tank though...and they are all over the place. But I never see them in my tanks with sand. (even though I know they are in there)

Yes I do have sand and I am having alge problems... Sand looking like it has a green specks all through it. Currently hav a school of octos keeping alge at bay but could use the added help. Also have some loaches that seem to help as well but forgot the name. 1529596356823.jpg1529596512208.jpg1529596570899.jpg1529596601226.jpg1529596644230.jpg
