Does anyone know what this is? It has just surfaced in my tank and I need to know if it should be removed ASAP. When we recently had a new addition to the tank it may have hitch hiked with out my knowledge. 20180621_103440.jpg 1529595464937.jpg

Looks like a Malaysian trumpet snail. They are pests, as they can reproduce very quickly. But not one of the worst pests!
Do you have sand substrate? They can be beneficial for sand substrate as they keep it sort of aerated, and you hardly ever see them since the burrow in the sand.
I've got them in a gravel tank though...and they are all over the place. But I never see them in my tanks with sand. (even though I know they are in there)
