Break dancing, maybe?

It sounds like it might be an ammonia spike. Are you sure it's .1 or could it be 0?

I never get that real canary yellow of 0 on the ammonia test. Today seemed maybe a tad greener that yellow but not as green as 0.25
I also have a seachem ammonia alert that safe "safe" and everyone else in the tank seems fine.
I am so bummed. This one was my favorite. It was so sad to see the twitching.

I'm not sure if shrimp can have seizures but maybe that was it?

I just called the LFS to ask them and to tell them the snail I got from them at the same time (about 10 days ago) died after about two days. The man there is convinced there's an issue with my water and recommended I buy RO water. We do have older pipes here in the house. Any thoughts on that?

Was he the only shrimp in the tank?

There are two others that are hiding at the moment but I can see they are alive. One of them is always shy (couldn't find him for a week and thought he'd jumped out. And the other usually spends about 50% hiding and 50% out.

It sounds like it not in your pipes since all the others would be dead too.

Have you ever treated your tank with anything that contains copper

Is his shell moving? It also sounds like he is trying to shed.

The only additives that have ever gone in are prime, stability and ammonia (dr tim's ammonium chloride) during cycling.
When I saw him freaking out I was hoping it was molting (have found 2 shrimp shells in the last week) but he is definitely dead now

Since you brought up the pipes, what are they made from?

Galvanized steel from 1964

Well, that's not copper. Sometimes the pipes are actually made from copper, which can cause issues.
What are you feeding and what all is in the tank with them?

I started a new thread asking about tank water, I think all the info should be here:
