This Fish was shipped to me yesterday as a female betta. Today she/he has built a bubble nest. Can anyone tell me if it is a male or female, please?

Well, I just spoke to the breeder who says he is “1000% sure” it is a female due to white egg spot. He said he breeds large females for breeding and some do have larger fins. I hope he knows what he’s talking about.

Ok I re-examined the pictures and here's what I now think. Most likely a female because "she" don't have an obvious beard, rounder in the stomach area, ventral fins are shorter than the analfin, and I think I see an egg spot in the pictures. Don't know why "she's" building such a large nest (even larger than my male bettas) and if it is a female, her fins are amazing for a female betta and I now want one.

Leave it the me that get he/she.

Its body shape tells me that it's female. Some females can also have long fins and sometimes build nest too, I know because I also have one like yours.

Here's my female marble:

She's a confirmed female and she spawned with my male betta a few months ago.
