Help setting up 29 gallon

hey guys. petco is having their $1/gallon sale so I got a 29 gallon the other day.. and didnt get anything else.. I plan on taking my sweet time with this tank. and I'm trying to tally up all the equipment I'm going to need... I'm stuck on the lighting and lid part.. this tank came with neither a light or lid, and I'm not to keen on black plastic hoods because when removing the hood to water change, you are left with just the light in the room to help you see, because the lights are on the under side of the hood of course.. any recommendations on hoods, and lights that can fit this tank? its a rimmed aqueon 29 gallon. I plan on doing my first true aquascape with this tank and I want everything to look clean and prestine.

Filter:you could buy a 10 gallon and build a sump, or petsmart usually has a good deal on the penguin 350 power filter, and sponge filter is always an option but might could take up too much space inside. Home improvement for organic garden soil and sand. I have no idea where to find a good price on hard scape supplies though. Be careful when stocking. The pursuit of "pristine" is not always beneficial for the ecosystem you are creating. Have fun. Look forward to seeing updates.

Also, you can get a small shop light, chain, and eye loops to suspend the light above the tank.

I have no idea how a sump works, and if it involves drilling holes in the glass, ill have to pass on it.. however I have an aquaclear 20 on my 10 gallon and I absolutely love it.. so I'm wanting to do a bigger aquaclear HOB for this tank. I just don't know how that would work with a glass lid or plastic. as for the light, it will have to be attatched to the tank in some way. I can't suspend a light in this room because I'm still living at home with my father. he wouldnt like that lol

I have some led lights that have thin rods inserted at each end that rest on the edges of the aquarium and hold the light above the lid. They slide in and out of the light so there's some adjustment. My daughter-in-law ordered them from Amazon.

That's a hinged glass that I bought at Pet Supplies Plus. My daughter-in-law ordered the light for me, so I don't have a link, but it shouldn't be hard to find if you do a search.
