Help Sand For Fiddler Crabs

Ok, I have “sand” in my crab tank, but I’m not sure I’m ok with it. Its a bit corse. My question is....I ordered Hermit Crab sand but someone on this forum said it was no good for fiddlers...cement like and too full of “chemicals.” Ive scrubbed the internet and I can't find an answer. Ive already ordered aquarium sand, but now I'm also stuck with Hermit sand too. Maybe I can mix them, or save it and ...give it to a hermit crab friend (I don't know any). Please? Anyone? Use it, mix it, or trade it?

What type of hermit crab sand? Most likely it was me, if its calcI sand you do run into the issue of it clumping together when wet.

If it is that, maybe consider mixing it in so its low in concentration - and will help give the fiddlers a little extra calcium but will not be high enough to cause issues.

Its Flukers Hermit Beach Sand. It has calcium, coconut fiber, sea salt, and probiotic in it.

Oh. Yeah, that should be fine. Its expensive - considering what its made out of - but should be fine.

Cool, thanks! I’ll mix it with the basic aqarium sand I have coming. I was going to return it to Amazon, but they refunded my money and told me to keep the sand, so not so expensive! Hahaha!

/Sigh. Before you got back to me about the sand, I contacted Flukers and asked them if their sand was safe for fiddler crabs. Two days later the response was, “Tbh, I don't even know what fiddler crabs are.”
Just wow. I lost it and asked this person if they were paid to be stupid, and there is a thing called Google and why did they waste my time...and something about calling them a moron...sheesh! O.O

I know this is just me saying my opinion - which probably isn't needed, but you're getting it anyway - I actually prefer the honestly that the flukers rep didn't know what a fiddler was! Think about it, they could of been dishonest and made up some complete BS in order to sell the product, but instead chose to say the truth. That takes a lotta guts, and kudos to them! So I really don't agree with your responce, cause I understand what its like working in retail and dealing with customers. It aint easily, and there's no point of getting upset with someone because they didn't know the answer - yes even if it is their job!

Putting it into perspective, until I visited the interwebs I had no idea that fiddlers was such a thing (13 plus years...) In australia, we don't have them as pets so they weren't something I was aware of...

I worked in CS too, I know, but this was an email response. I guess I left that part out? I would have preferred they get the question and go ask a supervisor or something. I really don't care they didnt know what a fiddler crab is...that was no help at all.
Yes, you are right, if it was a contact call, I would understand that response, and prolly would of laughed a bit...but not an email.
They need better training for their peeps.
