Help rooting my aquarium plants.

I have some crypts and a sword plant and they wont stay rooted I use everything that aquarium coop says to use like seachem flourish and easy green and they work. I looked at the bottom of the tank and a lot of my roots go to the very bottom of the substrate. The plants dont come out of the gravel and float to the top they just come out a little and then you can see the roots. I bury the roots and they come back up. should I add more substrate? Thanks!

I would add more substrate. What are you using for it?

you can use lead weights on your plants until they build a root system. just rap them around the stems. your substrate or in my case soil should be around 2-3 inches at least so they have room to build said root system and stay down. at least in my experience. but the lead weights help in the beginning

like this https://www.amazon.com/Lead-Weights-Aquarium-Plants-Actually/dp/B07J33MRJG/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3KHR7HBWQNA1G&keywords=aquarium+plant+weights&qid=1646808385&sprefix=,aps,107&sr=8-4
I have like 3 1/2 inches of substrate and the roots are all the way at the bottom and the plants are still loose.
