Help Need Some Feed Back On My Stocking

HI Ive had my tank for a while and have been adding fish slowly as I have been trying to make smart decisions. right now I have 1 male betta, 9 harlequin rasboras and 5 otocinculus. The substrate is gravel (walmarts aqua culture), I have a hob filter with a sponge over the intake as well as a sponge filter . I like corys , but I have gravel ... thought of adding some tetra for some color and I really like platys . Thought of snail ( or lay eggs everywhere) or shrimp but both breed like crazy. Or should I just stop. I think I'm over thinking -

What size tank is this?

Netrite snails are unable to breed in freshwater! So you could get some of those, and never worry about babies!

Cory catfish prefer sand. I wouldn’t recommend them in gravel.

You don’t really need to worry about snails and shrimps breeding too much if you don’t mind feeding them to your fish. Baby shrimps tend to get eaten easily, and your fish would probably love the extra protein if you crush a few snails whenever their population start to rise (I do this with pond snails). Mystery snails lay eggs in clutches above the water line, so you can just remove the eggs if you don’t want more snails.

sorry this is a 29 gallon. I thought of nerite snails but I've read they lay eggs everywhere. I'm not sure I have any fish right now that would eat shrimp babies , maybe the betta I think the rasboras are to small. So should I not add any other fish? are there any bottom feeder that do ok on gravel?

Betta and rasbora can definite eat baby shrimp, and Amano Shrimp won’t reproduce in freshwater. Gravel is not a big problem for corys as long as it’s not too sharp. You can always dig out a small pit and make a beach for them to play in (or add a sand plate/bowl, which can look quite good too). My corys didn’t especially prefer sand substrate more than smooth gravel. A small pleco would work too.

Rabbit snails ( I just learned this today) only lay one egg a month and ONLY if you have a male and a female
