Help: Need fan recommendation please!

Hey all, hubby and I recently traded our 4'x4'x1' frag tank and stand for a BUNCH of tanks and equipment. Part of that trade includes a 60 gallon cube tank, drilled with plumbing and stand. The plan is to upgrade our 50 gallon breeder into the 60 cube because the dimensions are just awesome (2'x2'x2' I believe). Anyway, along with the rest of the trade we have received an Aqua Medic Aquaspace Light 250W Metal Halide that we plan to use for the cube. We're told that the fan needs replacing and we have never done that before. Can someone point me in the right direction of where to look for this fan? Do I have to buy an Aqua Medic brand replacement, or are these fans pretty interchangeable? Oh, in case it helps, the light is a pendant style, and has a remote ballast. The fan goes in the ballast. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. Thanks in advance!

 

Have you tried Home Depot?

 

Radio shack or a good industrial parts supply store should have what you need.

 

You will need to pull the fan out and there are a model and fan ratio data on the list on the fan, you will have to cross reference the data to get other parts that will be at that specification, You can also get them from some dealers but will cost more for the same part. You may be able to deal with Aqua Medic directly and get the part for free,Just stand up to them and tell them the whole thing that the problem is they are reasonable.
