Help!! My nerite snail had babies in freshwater

Now let me prefice this by saying that my tank is small, a 5 gallon, so no change goes unnoticed. I saw a lot of little sesame seed-looking things on the driftwood where my Nerite likes to cruise around. I didn't think much of them after I googled it and found that they don't hatch in FW. Well last night I went and found a little brownish red blob on the glass. Which of course, was a snail baby. It looked more like a ram's horn than a nerite, which was weird, but oh well.

Now I kinda freaked out because like, BABIES!! I read that if they do hatch they don't make it long so I "rescued" them and threw them into a jar of tank water that I had been recouping some moss in. 2 went into the jar, 1 more is still in the tank because it fell to the bottom. Last night I could definitely see one moving around in the jar, couldn't find any this morning though.

So, what do I do now? Should I have moved them? Will they survive?

if you scroll to the "As of July 21st..." That's what they look like

They could be just Ramshorn snails. These snails can be beneficial because they can clean up and eat the leftover food that falls to the bottom. If you don't mind having them around you can keep it in there but they can take over if you don't keep the population down.

...how on earth did I get Ramshorns? I only have one nerite. And should I track them down and put them back in the main tank? They seem so vulnerable

Yes, those are ramshorns. Did you introduce any new live plants? They most likely hitchhiked in them. Some people like them, some hate them since they breed like crazy.

Yes, 3 weeks ago. How did they not show up for that long? That's crazy. Will bettas or glofish eat the babies?

They probably came in as egg sacs or as baby snails that would've been hard to see. Fish may eat the baby snails but the egg sacs may be harder to find since they are transparent.

I don't want the babies to get eaten would they be ok in a 1 gallon no heat no filter jar with moss for now?

I think as long as they're in water, they're pretty indestructible. Lol

You can keep them in the 1 gallon but they're just gonna keep on breeding haha
