I was doing my big maintenance day, when putting on the finishing touches, the bottom of the inlet valve, broke.. Now that it will not seal, of course, the canister leaks.. Falling into a slight panic mode, I grabbed my Whisper 4 HOB filter, put some of the media sponges in it along with some of the ceramic media, and fired it up.. The rest of the ceramic media and filter media sponges are laying on the bottom of my 60 GA tank.. I live in a military town in BFE, and will be ordering the replacement parts in the morning. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks, Lori

You can try to epoxy the valve back onto it or maybe glue it somehow, but if I were you I would just run the HOB for the time being, keep all your media wet inside tank water so the beneficial bacteria stays alive, and get a replacement piece as soon as you can. I would have to actually see a picture of what you're talking about to know forsure though.
