Help! My betta is stuck in a ceramic pot hole!

My large female betta got herself stuck in the hole at the bottom of a ceramic pot I put into the tank for guppy fry. Please help, she can not get out herself. I tried pushing her backwards, but it didn't do anything. I even tried siphoning her out, but she is really stuck. Her head and gills are stuck outside the pot, while her body is stuck inside.

You're going to have to break the pot somehow. Do you have strong snips, like aircraft snips or hoof trimmers or something?

UPDATE: I was able to break the pot, but my poor betta is hurt.... It looks like she has been flailing around in that pot all night.... I put her in a net near the surface with a plant... but I don't think she will make it.... :'(

Oh no! Do you have a picture? Do you have any other container you can keep her in just in case the netting catches on the edges of her wound and makes it worse?

I used snips, which worked pretty well. They also didn't hurt the betta. I tried hammer and chisel, but it didn't work. I'm really worried my betta got internally injured....

I'm planning to put her into a 5 gallon bucket with salt..... and a heater. To make it worse, the tank she is I is being treated for ich/ick. Should the container she goes into be heated up pretty high for the ick/ich? Or should it just stay at 80F?

Do you see any ich parasites attached to her? If not then I would just leave that alone for now and focus on keeping her water clean and add something like Indian Almond Leaf or extract (oak leaves work, too) because the tannins have mild antibacterial properties.

Diamond the betta has passed. :'(

I'm literally crying right now, she was with me for 2 years......

I don't know if I'll be able to find another betta that gets along with other fish so well......

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing fish sucks anyway but especially a betta who gets along with others!

I'm so sorry. It's natural to become so affection over our fish though, isn't it? They greet us every morning, they recognize our faces, they calm us when we are stressed out...
