So I have 2 labs.. I was wondering if the one with the black stripes was a male and the one without stripes was a female. I'm kinda new to yellow labs and I don't want to vent them and hurt them

both sexes will have the black stripe....africans breed all the time with eachother, so either you have a hybrid lab or some other african ....

Sorry I had to resize my picture. Could you look at the picture now? I'm pretty sure the one with no stripes is a yellow lab.

Just started
I have read that the males carry the black barring but so do females and they lose it more at maturity. I have also read that there are solid yellow labs out there that are more of a hybrid and are not true electric yellows. I actually have one from Petco and it is solid yellow and they said it was a male when I bought it.......I hope I have helped add to the confusion...lol.

Edit:I just read that males have Black Pectoral fins also just from doing a bit of google.
