Hello All!
I have recently decided to convert my 55g fishtank into a paludarium. Probably heavily planted. I've never done anything like this before so i'm very excited! I was thinking of splitting my tank in halfish, giving me around 20 gallons of water, and having a slight waterfall feature. But before I build it I need to decided what to put in it?!
I like the idea of creatures that will use both the land and water sections. and maybe something that is active during the day. Defiantly something that is a little more hardy/beginner species, as this will all be new to me.
Maybe Newts? but does that mean I can't put fish in the water section? Will newts be active during the day? Do they need a basking section? Or will a general UVB light work? How many could I get and what's a good hardy beginner species?
I was also thinking about maybe toads? Are they noisy? I suffer from migraines so if they croak all the time it would be a problem.
Other ideas? All suggestions welcomed!
