Help me identify these fish! Please and Thank You :)

So, I just bought these fish from my local aquarium store.. thought they were really cool looking..
the owner told me the name of them.. and said ones a female and ones a male.. but he did the research while I was in the store so it may not be accurate.

Will you please fill me in on what type of fish these are? and what sex if possible.

Those are Peacock Gudgeons. And I think you do have a male and female but I can't really tell from the picture.

Usually they will tell you the right names, just not the right info on them. After all, a lot of the pet store workers, although they may love animals, don't know everything about their fish.
