Help Me Id This Snail :)

Hello everybody.
I am looking for help to try and identify a snail.
I bought a plant from Petco and put it in a glass jar with some stones and 2 Marino Moss Balls. A week or so later I found a tiny snail in the jar. It has been fun to watch it grow and move around. I have since moved the plants and Moss balls to my aquarium which has a Dwarf Gourami, Neon Tetras, Corydoras and Guppies.
I would like to add the snail to the aquarium only if it is safe to do so and more specifically of it won't reproduce by itself.

It is black and has a golden/brownish shell. Attached is a picture.

What kind do you think it is? Can I add it to the tank?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Joe

Looks like a pond snail to me. I would get rid of it as they overrun the tank if you let them.

Looks like your average bladder snail to me. Often seen as pests because they reproduce so fast. I like them though. Keeping just one means it will keep growing and growing rather than spending its energy on making babies. If you are sure it is the only bladder snail then I say go ahead and add it, just be aware that if might become dinner for the fish, depending on species. Gouramis seem to really like snails (at least mine did).

Thank you so much guys!
If there is a chance it will take over and reproduce a lot, I'm not sure I want it in.
I am thinking maybe I'll keep him in the jar and do partial water changes weekly when I do water changes in the aquarium.
The jar is a little under 1 gallon. Would that work?

Thank you so much.

I keep my breeding red rams horn snails in betta cups and change all the water weekly. They seem plenty happy and heathy

Thanks for the replies.

This is a very rewarding hobby. Seeing your fish being healthy and happy, growing and showing beautiful colors. I'm very excited.
