Help IDing 3 plants...

Magua

Can’t stop planting. I enjoy the plants as much as I enjoy the fish! But a few I forgot to record the names and I’m hoping you can help!!

The first two pictures are of what I think is either Bacopa Caroliniana or moneywort? It’s maybe 9-10” tall.

2nd two pics (red plant) are what I think might be scarlet temple or Alternanthera Reineckii (is that the same thing??). It’s about 4” tall and not really getting taller, just filling out.

And the last 2 pics could beRotala Wallichii?? Not sure. The leaves are skinny and the tops had a red/pink hue when I first bought it but changed to light green when I planted. This one started growing fast and the bottom stems were losing leaves (my DG helped). It was about 10” tall but I chopped t In half and planted the tops next to the stems.

thoughts???

thank you!!!! :)

I think you're right about every single one of them. I'm pretty sure it's Bacopa Carliona (1), then Alternanthera Reineckii (2), then Rotala walachi (3).

I agree the first one looks like moneywort to me.

The last one is definitely not wallichii. Wallichii looks like this: Google Image Result for https://www.aquasabi.com/media/image/product/4183/md/rotala-wallichii~3.jpg. It has super fine almost needle-like leaves. Looks like either Rotala rotundifolia or maybe Rotala Macrandra Green Narrow Leaf? Rotalas are hard to ID lol, but it’s definitely not Wallichii. Here you can find a list of Rotalas and do Google image searches for each to compare: Knowledge Base | Barr Report Forum - Aquarium Plants.

Scarlett Temple is indeed just another name for AR. That does look like AR, although that’s interesting it isn’t getting any taller. That’s a good indication that it probably isn’t AR, but some other type of Alternanthera that doesn’t get as tall—perhaps Alternanthera Cardinalis.

They ARE hard to ID! I took a couple more pictures to show how narrow the leaves are. The fact that the tops were reddish when I purchased it makes me lean that way. The Macandra is possible?

Also I should note that I’m using the garbage light that came with the Aqueon kit, so while things look good and are growing, I’m not surprised they’re not growing fast or keeping the reddish coloring...

Yeah that definitely creates more issues with IDing, because they will look a lot different in your setup than in most of the pictures you will find haha.
