Help Id My Eel

    I got this guy/gal from petsmart and it was labeled as a peacock eel. I want to know if that was correct cause after looking it up i dont think it is a peacock eel 20180615_042215.jpg

    It looks like a peacock/spiny eel to me, but you're right that it's not a typical one. It's probably a subspecies of peacock eel.

    When did you get it? If it's brand new, it's coloring might not have come in yet.

    I AGREE, IT'S HALF BANDED SPINEY ELL , ALSO KNON AS A ZIG ZAG EEL.

    Thats what i was thinking but those are a bit darker

    I got it yesterday

    Macrognathus circumcintus, half banded spiny eel.

    Thats wjat i was thinking but the pics and videos of half banded made them seem darker than mine and the zig zag has a totally different pattern right?

    Could be a dull colored tire track, but OP it’s probably stressed still so you’ll have to let it color up a bit

    Circumcinctus. Probably a bit pale because it's new and/or stressed.

    Thank you everyone for your help. Everything i look up on tge internet is pointing towards the half banded spiny eel. I just wanted to see if yall would confirm that or not. All help much appreciated
