Help I Have Ich!

hello everyone!
So I just got a new fish a week ago and I didn't quarantine him (I know, I know). I should've. But now I can see white dots all over his tail. And some of my other goldfish are lethargic. It's a 55 gallon with 4 small fancy goldfish. How do I treat it. Should I treat the whole tank or quarantine only the one with white spots?

I don’t really know much about goldfish but it’s too late now to just treat the one, now that the ich has been introduced to the others you’re going to have to treat the whole tank.

I bought aquarium salt and ich treatment. I might try the aquarium salt first and if that doesn't work I'll try the treatment.

So I'm going to put the ich treatment in first I decided. But the directions say to take the filter media out before. If I take out the filter media won't the good bacteria die? Should I put them in a bucket of tank water? Will that help?

Oh ok yes it did say to take out any carbon, I thought that meant all filter media. How do I know if I have any carbon?

What filter do you use? Some have custom carteidges with carbon inside them.
