HELP!! Hurt Snail!!

My mystery snail was climbing on the filter intake and somehow got stuck. Some of his body was sucked I and his antennae. I discovered him this morning when I woke up so he could have been on there for up to ten hours! After unplugging it, I took off the bottom part of the filter that sucks the water in but he was stuck inside. Fast forward two hours and I have managed to get him off the filter and in to a one gallon quarantine tank with sand on the bottom. I'm pretty sure he has lost an eye, is not both. He is still alive though, because when I touch him he pulls in. Other than being alive, he does not look good. What should I do??? :'(

I would leave him be too. I'm so sorry this makes me sad. If I may ask what kind of filter do you have? Mine like to crawl on my filter as well. Keep us updated on him.

It's always so sad whenever a snail gets hurt, because they can't show it as much as fish or other animals. All they can do is move around, eat, poop, and retract into their shells. Sure, they have a personality, but I'm saying that it'll be harder to tell if they're depressed because it's just a cycle of Move 2 inches in 5 hours. Sleep. Eat. Poop. Repeat. So it's harder to tell signs of stress or pain or things. But I'd just keep your tank clean, try and feed your snail some cuttlebone or (non-sharp) boiled eggshells. Calcium will be good for her shell and help her recover from any damage as much as she can. Also feed your snail it's favorite food. This will help with any stress and also will be good and nutritious.
Unless your snail is a potato chip and ice cream junkie.

I love my snail, and I hope your snail recovers so that you can love your snail without worry again too. Good luck.

Thank you guys so much! I love my snail too and he seems better... He got Joan's managed to get to the surface and breath a little. However, mother back end of his foot looks to be a little torn up and he either has both eyes or neither eye... I can't tell. I have some bottom feeder tablets in with him.

Don't overfeed him! They don't eat much, and if he's not feeling well, he's not going to want to eat. You don't want to cause ammonia spikes with the uneaten food.

Don't leave food in for more than 2 hours. Hopefully clean water and rest will get him going again
