HELP! Gourami pair are fighting

I recently purchased what I believed to be a male opaline gourami to pair with my female blue gourami. As soon as I added the male opaline to the tank, the female began relentlessly chasing him. Do I have the genders wrong? Is the male a female? Looking for any and all suggestions.
I attached two pictures, one of each the blue and opaline gourami. I was certain the blue is a female, but maybe the opaline is a female too and they’re not getting along.

Hi, so I believe they are male and female it’s just adding another Gourami to an existing Gourami’s area almost always has this kind of reaction.

Personally I think it’s better to keep a group rather than a pair.

Thanks for the reply! They are doing fine today, I’m even noticing some breeding behavior which is interesting:
