Frozen daphnia is good for bloat, in case that is what happend...better than green peas, if you can get it. If you can find some, you can feed it twice a week to both bettas to keep things moving.

Hope Ace makes a full recovery!!!

How long ago was the bleached equipment put in the tank? It could be that the bleach was not neutralized or removed properly, and is affecting the fish.

well its a 10g partitioned and shared by 2 bettas, safe to say it's not a "tank" problem, and just a "fish" problem if it was something with the tank both fish would be struggling with it.

generally speaking once this happens with bloat and a swim bladder problem and constipation, if you don't fix the diet, it will continue to happen to bettas over and over and eventually take them out.

I'd check this forum for info on betta diets and feeding schedules for optimal digestive health, and open a discussion for any new info keepers might have that helps on how and what to feed him and your other betta too, that is most likely to keep him healthy as you can and not cause stomach issues, fish that are prone to this, really need a non-irritating diet, or it keeps happening and runs them down until they aren't strong enough to deal with it.

I read somewhere that 70% frozen food, and 30% high protein pellets make for an optimal diet to prevent bloat in bettas with delicate digestive systems.

He was on some Brian shrimp about a few months ago as treats when I get a chance I’ll buy some either brine shrimp or Daphnia and I’ll continue feeding him his fish food with that it’s just standard fish food flake and pallet right now he’s doing ok also I’ll be feeding him peas and garlic for the meanwhile
