Help, cloudy water after adding lava rocks

I just put 2 softball sized lava rocks in my 55 gallon aquarium it's been cycled for months ph 7.2, ammonia less than. . 25, 0 nitrate, 5ppm nitrate community tank, and now my water is cloudy, white cloudy. Is it the rocks???

Did you rinse them off thoroughly before you put them in there? If not, I'd say yes, it's probably something that was on the rocks.

 

I rinsed in hot water for 15 minutes and them put them in a bowl of water with prime and let them sit for a couple of hours before adding them

Did they make the water they were sitting in cloudy? Can you post a picture? Have you tested water parameters since the water became cloudy?

 

Did you let them cool off before adding them to the tank if you put them in cold water it could be minerals that broke off not an expert though

The parameters were what I posted first just the ammonia up slightly under.25,

In a cycled tank your ammonia should be 0. The cloudiness could be from a minI cycle, particularly if you over-cleaned the tank or replaced too much filter media at once. I would do a 40-50% water change to get the ammonia levels down and retest every 24 hours until they stay at 0.
