Help Betta Fin Turning Blood Red Overnight

Okay so I hope I am over reacting but today I looked at my Bettas before feeding and my white male Betta has a bright blood red section on his tail. He is a rose tail with perpetually torn fins no matter what I do to help him. He has clean water, cycled tank (0.0.10), no sharp object or plastic plants, his only decorations are smooth and his only plants are real plants. This is a 20L divided with 3 other male Bettas. His behavior has not changed but I concerned about his tail. I know Bettas change coloring throughout their life times but I have had his almost 6 months or more and he has ever had a change like this and this happened over night. Is this something I should treat? Bacterial? Any ideas.

I am not sure why your betta's tail is turning blood-red...

However, 20 litres is much too small to divide for 3 bettas, let alone it's really only enough for one. If you'd like to see his fins heal, you should look into getting either a 15 gallon (or bigger) tank to divide into 3, or separate 3, 4 or 5 gallon tanks.

Septicima? I don't really know though, so it's probably not worth panicking over what I say

Is he otherwise acting normal and eating well? I think this is what breeders call “red wash.” Apparently it’s hard to breed out of betta fish, especially on the solid colored ones - such as yours.

As long as it is just a color thing I can live with that yes acting like his normal lazy self otherwise

I'd be a tad bit concerned as it happened in a very short amount of time. Does the red part seem inflamed or fuzzy? Can you get a close up of just the affected area?

That is what concerns me as well. It doesn’t seem inflamed or fuzzy, that was my first idea as to what to look for on the area. But I will try to get a better picture. He is camera shy.

It’s best you keep an eye on him, but from what I see in the pictures it’s not just that one dark spot that’s turning red. The rest of his body/fins seem to be turning pink as well. When my betta changed colors, he had a dark streak of blue going through his white/red fins. That streak of blue has since spread over his entire body.

The first picture was before he started getting the blue streaks, and the last two are him currently.
