-sigh- I keep having troubles with my Betta. I noticed that his fins were ripping apart, so I treated him with AQ salt. Then I moved him in a smaller tank to quarantine him, I do my best to do daily water change while I'm quarantining him. Now, I noticed that his fins are not even getting any better, and his colours are fading and now, it seems like under his gills, it puffed up a bit. What do I do ;-; help pleaseeeee. I want to save him.

I have a 5 Gallon Tank
No decorations at all
I have a tetra whisper filter
Marina 25 W heater
I also recently bought him an marina air pump 75

I haven't bought a kit to determine ammonia levels, etc.. (I don't understand it yet)

I feed him nutrafin max Berta colour enhancing flakes and these little pellets given to me by a teacher who also kept a betta before. I feed him three pellets a day, but there are days when I add extra pellet.

I first got him not knowing that I would need heaters, filters, air pump, etc.. because I was told that betas never needed them so I didn't really bother searching up on a proper tank set up.

neither of those tanks must be cycled then. Keep up on the daily water changes. How long have you had him? keep him as low stressed as possible

Do you feed him the pellets all at once? Pellets should be soaked in some tank water for a couple minutes before feeding to keep him from bloating/constipating. He looks a little bloated but I could be wrong.
