Help! African dwarf frog bloat.

Justthreehermitcrabs

Hello,
One of my African dwarf frogs hasn’t been able to swim down from the surface for about the past 4 days. He still has an appetite and has been trying to swim down but he just can’t.
Today I noticed that his left side is pretty bloated (it doesn’t look anything like dropsy) and from some research I’ve concluded that it’s likely a bowel obstruction. However, I have no idea how to help him. Please give me some advice!

Hi. I would try 2 tablespoons of plain epsom salt per 10 gallons, pre-dissolved in a cup of tank water and added slowly. It won't hurt the others and may help to deflate the little guy and pass any blockages. Give it a day or two and let us know how he's doing. Good luck.

Thank you so much! I checked on all the frogs today and none of them seem to be having trouble staying down so I think whatever it was passed. I’ll definitely try epsom salt if the issue reoccurs though, thanks!
