Help! Accidentally Stuck Outside Of Hob Into Tank!

So I’m busy doing a water change on my betta tank and took off the pantyhose I had over the filter intake to clean it, and without thinking, put the outside of the HOB into the water. It wasn’t on, thank god, but the motor probably got wet and I’m worried if I plug it back in it’ll explode and kill me or something. Should I be worried or should I just replace it and plug it back in as if nothing ever happened?

Was it just a quick dunk or did it set a while? I have accidentally stuck it in and pulled back out right away and it was fine.

A quick dunk, really. No more than 30 seconds (probably a lot less) I stuck it on, and almost immediately I thought, “oh, Noo! and took it out.

I'd just let it dry for a little bit and then plug it back in. It should be fine.

Yeah, I just let it sit outside the tank for a bit and plugged it back in, and it seems fine.

If it is anything like the 4 HOB’s I have, the motor itself is completely sealed. Nothing to worry about.
