Hello!

aendaya

Hi Everybody -
It's been awhile since having a fish tank over 30 years ago as a kid... Just recently setup a small tank for my kids and I don't remember it being so difficult. Well, not difficult but different (i.e. the whole chlorine/chloramine thing). The planted tank has been cycled for over two months now and successfully having a couple of platies and shrimp (fire reds and some amanos) but our most recent addition of a black moscow breeding pair just died. At first, it seemed as though the female was pregnant but it may have not been and could have passed due to dropsy. The male is now showing similar signs :( The kids (and I) have learned a lot of lessons so far.
It's great to be here and have learned a lot from the posts here... Thanks!

Hi Aendaya,

It is very nice to see when parents introduce their kids to this hobby. Bad news about guppies. Good luck with keeping your fish healthy!

Welcome! Sometimes the specialty strains are weak genetically and there's nothing you can do but try again or try something with less potential inbreeding in their family tree.
