But it still is a ways out. There is nothing super fast or everyone would be using it.

I agree. If we could buy instant cycle in a bottle we would all probably have way more tanks going...lol. I have never used an additive because I know the old fashioned way works and I know how to do it. I hate adding more chemicals/medication that I have to because you never know what negative effects it may have.

Thank you I was thinking of using brightwell aquatics micro bacterstart. I've read a lot of good things about it with fish in cycle. Also I need help reading the api test results today.
First is nitrites 0ppm
Second is nitrates5ppm
And last ammonia .5-1ppm
Am I right right about all of those.

Thank you I just had to confirm because I have bad eyes lol. But that's what I figured. should I do a 50% water change 2 times today or would that hurt my cycle I've been doing my best to keep it at or under .25ppm ammonia. But that means I've been doing 2-3 50% water changes a day. Fish dont mind. But it might affect my shrimp I've only lost 1 in the last week. But idk what killed him. Could have been my fertilizer it has .0001% copper, and idk my kg or gh but I havnt lost that many shrimp out of the blue like that. Most were eaten by fish, amd some died while molting or shortly after. I havnt had any nitrites show up but .5ppm nitrates so it starting to cycle properly but I dont want to ruin it again

It probably is the water changes for the shrimp. They do not like big swings in parameters. What is your ammonia number when you do 1 50% a day?

So its starts at 1ppm then I do a water change it drops to .5ppm. Then I do 1 last change which drops it to .25 once and a while I will do another to get it to 0ppm but I only do that on fridays. But my ph is 6.6 ppm and ammonia is the only thing that changes. So idk what it is. Also I use amazonia v2 but over the last few weeks I've noticed my ph in tap water has gone down and now amazonia v2 doesnt lower my ph anymore. I will be double checking my ph in the morning tomorrow to verify that but I just tested my 10gs ph and it has a lot less amazonia but still has some mixed into the gravel because I reused the gravel from my old tank but the ph was the exact same in my tap as 10g and i havnt changed the water since yesterday morning.
