Hello everyone! I am a Freshwater Aquarium guy. I have been a fishkeeper for as long as I can remember and I have recently been breeding and keeping Convict Cichlids for the past 5 years or so. I do not believe I follow the standard norms of tank size/fish amounts. I have found (over time) that overstocking convicts have had some amazing results in curbing aggression. In my main aquarium (65 Gallons), I am currently keeping over 30 Convict Cichlids (3 months of age to 3+ years), 2 Blood Parrot Cichlids (young), 2 Pleco's (one will be moving soon), and 1 Golden Severum (young). I have other aquariums as well but nothing that I am as focused on as the Convict tank. I run a Top fin pro120 with as much Biohome media as it can hold. 82-84° tank temp. Even with the Biohome media I still 50% water change once a week. No living plants (they would just get eaten). I also use Marine Salt but have been pulling back on it recently to curb salt overload. I hope to move into building my own sump in the future and setting up a beautiful Discus tank. But that's for another day
