Meet BOTH of my boys! (Updated with Peaches and Pancho)
*Added Information/Photos about Pancho under original post!*
Hey everybody!
Hope you're all doing well. It's been a long time since I've been here, excited to catch up on your photos and introductions! I just wanted to do a little introducing myself. This is Peaches (aka I cannot come up with a good name for him and Peaches is a nickname!)
He lives in a 5.5 gallon tank. I'm going to be getting some better decorations soon, but I just wanted to stick him up here. His brother will have an introduction soon, my camera died before I was able to get some good pictures of him.
I'm happy to be back!
Then he got a little camera shy...
And, here is his brother, Pancho! I rescued him, he was seemingly mostly dead with bad fin rot in his cup. When I saw him at the grocery store, I told myself if he was still there when I came back, he would be mine. While I was waiting for one of my Design projects to print for class, I went and killed some time at Meijer, and there he was, waiting for me. I couldn't leave him the second time.
After an unfortunate break of his identical tank to his brother, Pancho is now housed in a 1 gal until his new tank comes in. He is significantly larger than Peaches, a spade tail, and after nursing him back to health, the only residual damage is a bit of curling on the end of his ventral fins, which I am hoping will work itself out with spotless water. Slowly pulled him off his meds and he is now off everything! I'm proud of how far he's come.
He's also one of my 'Holy Grail' colors (although I do prefer a crown tail), I've always wanted an orange betta with blue eyes. I'm a very lucky girl, and this little man is the baby for sure right now.
Because of how sick he has been for the past few months, I have never asked him to flair, and have not seen him do it naturally. However, when a mirror was put against his tank for his photoshoot he went CRAZY! It was so rewarding to see him be able to do that. Love this guy, and I'm so glad I rescued him.
*Sorry about the water spots on the tank! Now to find an opaque white male...
