The heater for my 7.5g which was 25w has stopped working after I accidentally left it plugged in whilst cleaning the tank.

Anyway, I was wondering if a 200w heater would be unsafe to use temporarily until I can buy another 25w heater. Will the 200w heater work just ordinarily and turn off when it reaches the required temperature?

    Hello!

The short answer is yes, if it has an auto shut off at the desired temp. It will happen quite quickly tho bc it's a big watt in a small tank. Just watch it to make sure!

Hope this helps and best of luck!

That's what I thought, but I can't help feeling uneasy about using it.

It's an aqua one. I have been using it & it seems to be working fine.
