I am placing 2 bettas in a split divided 10G tank. Should I put a small heater in each sz..day for a 5G tank or one heater for both. The divider has holes but little water flow due to small filters. One filter on each side?

Sounds good to me as long as they are 5 gallon heaters like you said. I don't see a problem. Happy betta keeping!

One filter on each side
A filter on each side is a good plan. Even if the divider has holes a filter won't be able to suck up muck from the other side or provide adequate water flow for filtering.

Did not see the part about the filter on each side. Two 5 gallon heaters on each side along with 2 filrers on each side is a really good plan. You could do 10 gallon filters on each side. Overfiltering is great!

I recommend an airstone on the side without a filter, but you can get two filters for each side.
You can do two heaters, you shouldn't have to if they are high wattage, otherwise, you can.
I have one heater, and one filter in my divided 10 gallon.

May I ask you what size heater and filter you are using?
