Heater placement question

so . im wondering if this is a decent place for my heater. or should i raise it? i pushed it down for the whole heat rises thing. get a cover maybe? for all i know snails will get cooked on it or something i dunno :p my first heater was a thin aqueon that hitched right onto my hob filter vertically so i placed this one inside horizontally . what are your thoughts on heater placement? . i guess also sensors. i had the sense on the opposite side of the hater to maybe even out the temp of the tank. but i found the left side of my tank was always warmer than the heater side. according to those cheap and sometimes free thermometers anyway.

putting your heater beside your filter helps the temperature to spread evenly.

thats what i figured. so i moved the sensor back over to the heater side so it wouldnt stay on longer than needed. now that im typing this. what if i put it horizontal in the middle back there behind the "wood" between my filters. yes i have 2 filters :p

I keep all my heaters horizontally about 2" from the substrate on the back glass. Mystery snails and SAEs like to take naps and rest on them, never a problem.
Also, never have to worry about them being exposed during 50% water changes. I should add for any "Newbies" just need to ensure its a fully submersible heater.

Good Luck!

that was the main reason i did that. so it would make water changes a little easier . yeah i made sure it was sumersible incase my newbie was showing. thats good to hear about the snails. i was thinking about getting one of those camo heat covers if there couldnt be any issies. maybe with grass touching or whatnot. thanks
