Heater Is Off, Yet Water Is Still Above 80

Ok here is the situation. I have one of those Eheim Jager heaters with the dual dials (by the way they are real confusing) that I unplugged about 2 weeks ago. I unplugged it for the main reason is where I live and the temperature that it is getting to outside. I live in the High Desert in California and the temps have been increasing. Inside the temperature is getting around 85 and higher when I am not home, and I look at the 2 thermometers I have, 1 digital and the other is the glass one (I know overkill) and they are running around 84 degrees.

Short from running my A/C 24/7 and spending my months paycheck on an electric bill, how can I lower the temperature of the water?

Freeze cubes of dechlorinated water and float them in the aquarium.

You can also freeze water in water bottles and float the bottles on the aquarium.

The most effective method is to run a fan over the surface of the water.

aside from that you can remove lids and increase surface agitation it will help a little.

I've already got a decent amount of surface agitation going. But unfortunately I can't remove the lid, for a multitude of reasons.

Get a chiller? Might be worth it in the long run. From socal do I know it's brutal hot up there in the summer. If your house is above 80 your tank will get there too.
