Hey everyone trying to find a good heater for a 10 gal betta tank I am starting up. It will house 1 male betta and a few small corys. Any suggestion on a good heater for this size tank?

I went to my local wal-mart and got one there. I have 3 of them, and they all work great. They are automatic though, but your betta's needed temperature would work for the automatic setting. It at least worked for mine. I forget what it is called, but I'll see if I can find the box.

I had an automatic walmart heater in my ten gal once and the temperature fluctuated sI much I had to take it out, though the temperatures here are really cold outside too. I got a 25-50 watt heater from the pet store.

I do however have that walmart heater in a 3.7 gal tank for a mean female betta, and the temp hasn't moved

I have been looking at a 50W hagen submersible. You can find them fairly cheap on line. Anyone no much about these? Pros and Cons?

I have the walmart heater and it works great BUT BUT BUT. I do not reccomend them under any circumstance as they arnt a good betta heater. While 78f is the minimum for bettas, they do better at 80-82 and when they get sick its very importent to up temps. IMO a good heater is an adjustable heater. Hydor makes some great ones, as does the Elite that I am currently using.

True, there are times I wish I could control the temperature.

Thanks for the info and opinions. I think I will go with an adjustable heater so I can control the temperature.
