It has been about 4 days since I spilt some soap in his tank, and I was really worried for a while but he is getting better!!! I just caught him swimming around (buoyant and all) This is big step from floating around on his side barely breathing. I think being back in his old tank might have helped a little. I put him back in his tank today since it was showing no signs of soap and I was able to pick up a new filter. I also got a chance to pick up some plant bulbs to replace the plants the soap killed ;D

Now if only if I could cure his finrot (kinda happened around the same time) I have some of those dissolving anti-fungus tablets but they don't appear to be working :/

glad to hear of the improvement.

To treat finrot, try either Trisulfa or Rid-Fungus:

(the trisulfa is stronger but if you think it's too strong (or you think the fin rot is mild) you could go with the rid-fungus and avoid the risk of over-using antibiotics.

I'd also treat the tank daily with Vitachem for healing and regrowth:

Best of luck getting him back to totally healthy.

Well it isn't mild, but I would call it extreme either...

I should be able to get a ride to walmart/petsmart so I should be able to pick up the meds then. Till then I will just try to keep the water clean and warm (82* )

sounds good. you won't find vitachem there, but you might find other liquid vitamins.. it'll depend on the store selection.
