Have You Ever Had A Celebrity Communicate With You On Social Media?

I'm just curious. When I say communicate I mean respond with a comment, or a like. Most famous people don't take the time to click the like button, or get involved in the discussion they start on twitter, or facebook. I've had multiple somewhat famous people acknowledge my existence on twitter and facebook through a comment, or like. Not that it's a big deal, but it's kind of cool.

I've had NHRA Fox Sports pit report Amanda Busick either respond to my comments, or click the like heart on twitter multiple times. She actually follows me on twitter even though we've never met just because we graduated a year a part from each other at NC State.

TV star Jill Wagner (Wipeout, Teen Wolf, Hand Crafted America, multiple TV movies) posted a link on her twitter to some poll about newlyweds. Her and her husband were in the poll and could have won something. I voted for her and posted a comment that I wasn't enrolled at NC State when she was, but that she knows people who know people who know me. She wrote "Thank You" which she usually doesn't do in those situations.

Two time Daytona Rolex 24 champion and 24 Hours of Le Mans champion Joey Hand liked a photo I tagged him in of me watching an IMSA race on TV.

24 Hours of Le Mans champion Harry Tincknell said "I'm glad you liked it" after I told him on twitter that I just saw a really good documentary on Netflix about him winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014.

The other night Motley Crew member NikkI Sixx clicked the like heart below my comment after I responded to what he posted on twitter.

Like I said, not a big deal, but kind of cool because famous people don't always do that.

I don't know if you'd call him a big celebrity, but Nicholas Megalis followed me on Vine (when it was still around) whenever I bought one of his songs. He liked like 2 of my videos and made a comment.

That's cool! Frank Oz is awesome! He also does the voices of multiple Sesame Street characters and multiple Muppet characters. Plus he directed "What About Bob?"

He is such a legend. He was also in a scene in the start of The Blues Brothers, I laughed so much hearing Fozzie's voice coming from a prison guard

Got a tweet liked by Dale Earnhardt Jr. RIP inbox.

I posted a picture of my Hooters pickle chips on twitter today and tagged Chase Elliott and got a like. I'm guessing his assistants run his twitter feed most of the time. I'm pretty sure Dale Jr posts his own posts though based on some of the things he has said.

I'm a Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers toy collector and David Yost, the original Blue Ranger, which happens to be my favorite, liked and commented on a photo I took about a Blue Ranger toy. I was excited, lol. Also, Steve Cardenas, the 2nd Red Ranger has liked a few of my photos.

Not huge celebrities now, but back in the days they were, at leat for MMPR fans

I guess I should add that a few months ago NHRA Ford factory driver Bob Tasca III liked my comment when I told NHRA pit reporter Amanda Busick that I was a Ford fan and she should interview him.

I just went to dinner two nights ago, and we sat with Dallas Cowboys punter Chris Jones, his wife and daughter, Magnolia.
We weren’t just sitting near him, we were actually invited at the dinner table to enjoy a night there.

It was great, we had fun.

Oh and I forgot to add in my last post, this year on twitter I have also had former Indy Car driver and race car owner Chip GanassI like multiple posts of mine. I also had a post liked by IMSA GanassI Ford driver Ryan Briscoe. NHRA Top Fuel driver Clay Millican liked my response to his tweet. And when I posted a photo of the Christina Nielsen FerrarI lego set and tagged her in it along with the "Fuel the Female" twitter page I received a like from IMSA driver Christina Nielsen. Fuel the Female also retweeted and liked that tweet. That page is run by NBC Sports Indy Car pit reporter Katie Hargitt, so I assume she did the retweet.

Years ago on a chat program called Paltalk. I sang duets with a guy who turned out to be Gerry Rafferty and I had long , sometimes flirtatious conversations with a girl claiming to be from Australia who later made her own chat room where she admitted to being Drew Barrymore.

In real life, I have met Bill Murray and his brother Brian Doyle Murray, Johnny Bench, Doug Sanders, (my kids great uncle), Billy Casper, and ChI ChI Rodriguez.

The last 3 are pro golfers if you didn't know.

On Twitter, I had Dolph Ziggler (pro wrestler) like and respond to one of my tweets saying I was a Groucho Marx fan.

I remember Chi-ChI Rodríguez back in the day. He had the cool name and wore that hat.

I met and shook hands with the now retired Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I received a medal from him, personally. Also guarded General Casey who was the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army. I nearly met Hilary Clinton. I walked out as she came in, and I didn’t notice, until later I saw it on the news. Ok, not really celebrities, but well-known military and political figures.

I have seen celebrities in person, shooting movies. Most recently Keanu Reeves. He was shooting a scene in Grand Central Station in Manhattan for the third John Wick movie. I also saw a couple (can’t recall their names roght now) doing a scene on Wall Street. It was a Netflix movie. Can’t recall the name either. Does seeing them in real life count as meeting? Nah.

Nothing over social media, but I did take a selfie with Hillary Clinton at a rally and shake Brendon Urie's hand at a concert. Never had the chance to really speak to them though, one of my life goals is to meet Brendon somehow lol

I don't really do social media either, but have met the odd rugby/sports person. My parents own a service station on a main tourist route and meet famous people all the time, they had Bear Grylls in once. Dad was very disappointed when he found out that the food that he "finds" is actually placed there by the crew, lol.

I had a tweet liked by Laiken Baumgartner the other day. She appeared on the 2018 Hooters Calendar, won the 2018 Miss Hooters Pageant, is the cover girl for the 2019 calendar, appears in online advertisements, and makes appearances all around the nation at the NASCAR events since they sponsor Chase Elliott. She's the face on the restaurant chain right now.

I consider most of the fish breeders I communicate to be legends if not celebrities in the fish world .I stay away from the usual suspects on youtube as they are truly in it for the money only IMO.I know many respect some of them but not me one little bit.
My buddy has pictures of himself and Bill Murry hanging out ! He goes to shows like that ! HI'm and Bill seem to share some altered state of mind relationship !
I have done work for a soap opera star and his wife [Robert/Loyita Woods/days of our lives / one life to live / Roseanne ] .
They were both actually very nice people and over a year or two I built for them they were great to me.My meetings with them were in person.

Add NHRA funny car driver Courtney Force to my list of celebrities who have interacted with me on social media. Hurricane Michael has cancelled flights and she is driving to Charlotte from somewhere in the USA with a group of people and is stuck in a traffic jam. She asked for suggestions for games that can be played while driving, or songs to listen to. She commented back at my response and clicked like.

Back in the very early days of Twitter, my sister (who lives in NYC) was at a theater and got her foot stepped on by Kevin Spacey. She posted a joke on twitter about it and, much to her surprise, he responded with a fervent apology. It was before any of us really knew how twitter worked, and when it was still small enough that things like that weren't lost in the din.

Due to the celebrity in question, that anecdote has, uh, lost a lot of it's charm in the last year, though. ._.

Add Jamie Howe to the list. She's a pit reporter for Fox Sports and covers WEC, NHRA, and IMSA. Pit reporter Katie Hargitt (NBC Sports Indy Car) also liked a tweet of mine the other week with her own profile.

I guess you can count that since a lot of the people listed on here are what I would call B or C list celebrities who are only well known within their line of work.
